Joining the club

What age groups and skill levels do you train?

We offer regional teams from 12s to 18s, so athletes compete at the level that fits them. Development clinics and camps are open to athletes before and between club seasons. Our 2026-27 season is built around girls' teams, and we'd love to add boys' volleyball. As soon as there's enough interest, we'll form a boys' team. It can start at any point in the year and will be a local team focused on player development.

What governing body is the club affiliated with?

Club volleyball in our region is sanctioned through the Columbia Empire Volleyball Association (CEVA), the USA Volleyball region for Oregon and south-west Washington. We also take part in AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) and JVA (Junior Volleyball Association) events. Academy Nuʻu is a CEVA member club.

When do club tryouts take place?

12s and 14s try out on Sunday, November 8, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Parkrose Middle School. 16s and 18s try out on Sunday, November 15, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Parkrose Middle School. To register, use the Register by email link for your age group on the Club Tryouts page, where the details are.

How big is a team?

Teams carry between 8 and 12 athletes. We aim to fill every roster toward 12 so each team has a full bench and a healthy practice.

Are payment plans available for club tuition?

Yes. Season dues can be paid in installments. Dues, installments and the refund policy are confirmed at registration. See the Club Fees & Tuition page for what dues cover.

What is not included in dues?

Dues cover the club season: coaching, practice facilities, and tournament entry fees. A few costs sit outside dues, and families plan for them separately: travel to and from tournaments and events, food during tournament days, and all team gear, including the gear package. If you want help picturing what a full season will cost your family, ask us before tryouts. We will give you a straight answer.

What should athletes bring to practice or clinics?

Court shoes, knee pads, athletic clothing, a water bottle, and focus. Team gear is a separate purchase and is not part of dues.

Where do you practice?

We train at Parkrose High School and Parkrose Middle School, Oregon City Christian Church, and Rivergate Adventist Elementary. Practice schedules are built around our coaches and the gym time each facility can give us, so days, times and locations vary by team. Each team's schedule is shared with families before the season starts.

Where can I find more answers for parents?

Email us or call. Our club handbook covers tournament travel, club policies, and player expectations. It will be available electronically, and every family will be asked to read and sign it electronically as part of registration.
